Got this sent to us on twitter. It is from a performance at Royal Oak High School where a group of students did a pretty ripping cover of “Come Back To Me.” Nice work!
WE’RE COMING TO YOUR TOWN!
June 1 * Flint Local 432 * Flint, MI
We’ve performed countless memorable, sweaty and all-ages shows at the various locations of this legendary Michigan venue, alongside bands like The Pulse, Tourettes Ponies, The Hot Flashez and The Swellers - bands whose members went on to fame and fortune with Kommie Kilpatrick, Champions of Breakfast, Canada and The Swellers. We are thrilled to be returning on the heels of their grand re-opening. Come party with us, Vehicle City.
June 8 * Mickey Finn’s Pub * Toledo, OH
One of our earliest out-of-state shows was in Ohio at Mickey Finn’s Pub. It was the beginning of a long, beautiful and twisted love affair with a city that has become near and dear to our hearts over the course of a decade. We made hella racket and destroyed a stage or two (literally) all while being joined on stage at nearly every single northwestern Ohio show by Mr. Ryan Bunch. Toledo knows.
June 9 * Local First Street Party * Grand Rapids, MI
We are pleased as punch to be returning to the west side of the state, especially as a part of this awesome outdoor drinking/eating/music festival. Nothing beats some summer sunshine at an outdoor gig, especially when you can snag some tickets and gorge yourself on Michigan delights as far as the eyes can see and the nose can smell. Our performance is in the daytime, so you can probably catch a nap before you go out and do it all again after dark.
We have 3 Beastie Boys records in the house, but could only find two on the shelf last night. Ko then realized that one of the three had fallen. Crazy. Rest in peace MCA. “Love and respect to the end.”
We’re still reeling from this past Saturday. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Phantasmagoria, yours truly, and about a THOUSAND of our nearest and dearest friends spent an evening singing, dancing and otherwise making hella racket at the Majestic Theater in Detroit. If you were there, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We love Detroit.
Above, you can see us playing a full-band version of our Record Store Day single, “My Kind.” Backstage before we went on we decided to tease a little bit of “Up On Cripple Creek” in honor of the late, great Levon Helm and you can see that above as well. The video makes a weird jump in pitch toward the beginning, but you get the idea. Thanks to RAW DETROIT for filming this song (as well as the rest of our set). WATCH IT ALL RIGHT HERE!!! Do it!
